Pizza Americana

Ingredients

Thin Crust Pizza Dough ingredients:
  • 1 package active dry yeast (2-1/2 teaspoons)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • Toppings:
  • Pizza sauce
  • Beefsteak tomato, sliced
  • Jalapeno chillies, sliced
  • Bacon, cubed and pan fried
  • Basil leaves

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl combine yeast, sugar, salt, water, olive oil, and flour. Cover the bowl with a towel and let stand at room temp for 40 to 50 minutes or until almost doubled in size.
  2. Turn dough out onto a well floured surface and shape into a ball. Cover and let stand for 20 minutes.
  3. Roll dough out to a circle. Transfer dough to a lined oven tray. Top as desired.
  4. Bake in a 250°C for 11 to 14 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust starts to brown.
