Product Description

Lazio F1 Spinach produces rounded, dark green, smooth leaves that are packed with flavour and perfect for use in the kitchen. This superb modern high-performance seed variety is resistant to downy mildew races 1–7 and slow to bolt, which makes it ideal for 'baby' leaf production or use as regular spinach. This is the variety most sold in the supermarkets as baby leaf spinach.

Our Lazio spinach seeds produce the tastiest spinach, packed with essential vitamins A, B, and C and also rich in mineral salts and iron. This disease-resistant variety makes the perfect vegetable seed to enjoy raw or cooked as a healthy, tasty addition to any meal.

How To Grow

Sow thinly in 2.5cm (1 in) deep in rows 30cm (12 in) apart—water well during any dry spells. No further thinning is required for baby leaves if seeds are sown thinly. Repeat sowings at 2-3 weekly intervals for a continuous crop. For regular spinach, thin to 15cm (6 in) between plants. Do not sow for mature plants in mid-summer, only for baby leaves. Pick individual baby leaves as required to encourage further growth, up to 3-4 cuts.

Our Lazio F1 Spinach seeds typically take 5-10 days to germinate, depending on the soil temperature. Temperatures ranging from 4 to 25 °C make for the ideal conditions to allow your Lazio Spinach seeds to germinate.

How Long Does It Take to Grow Spinach From Seed?

Depending on the climate and growing conditions, your Lazio F1 Spinach seeds can take 30 to 40 days before they are ready to harvest, taking 45 to 60 days to mature fully. Spinach leaves can be harvested by cutting them directly from the plant and encouraging more growth.
