Sweet and versatile, the Kent pumpkin, also known as the J.A.P (or Just Another Pumpkin), is a classic heirloom variety that remains a firm favourite among gardeners. These fantastic pumpkin seeds produce delicious, round, medium-sized pumpkins with excellent flavour and good storage life. Their firm, bright orange flesh is ideal for roasting, baking, or making into pies or hearty soups. With a unique green and yellow mottled skin, the Kent pumpkin is as beautiful as it is tasty.
Kent pumpkin seeds perform well even in low-quality soils, preferring lower nutrient levels than most vegetable crops. This popular long-maturing variety is well-suited to regions with long, hot summers.

Sow J.A.P or Kent pumpkin seeds in clumps of 2-3 seeds, spacing each clump 60cm (2’) apart. Place the seeds on their edges so that they don't rot, but ensure that they are kept moist. The soil must be warm and should not be very fertile—over-fertile soils result in poor fruit growth and excessive leaves.
Thin to the strongest seedling in each group when they emerge. Provide liquid feeds, and if needed, hand-pollinate the female flowers. Harvest your Kent pumpkins when the stalks become dry. Fruits store for 4-5 months if kept dry and uninjured.

All goods we sell must be of acceptable quality and fit for the purpose they are sold for. If your seeds or bulbs do not grow for whatever reason we will happily provide you with a replacement. For all other products, please contact our head office through our contact us page. Please note we are not required to give refunds for change of mind or under any other circumstances.

Important Note
These seeds may be treated with a fungicide (Thiram or Apron XL), do not eat the seeds or feed them to animals. Fungicide treatment is an AQIS requirement for certain varieties of seeds. It does not affect your crops or harm insects such as bees. If your packet has been treated it will be well marked with a warning and the seeds will be dyed a distinct colour.
