Sowing:

Sow spring through summer direct where they are to grow, or if using seed raising trays or Peat pellets; transfer to final position when large enough to handle.

Water regularly and once fruit set, feed with a high potash liquid fertiliser. Plants may require staking. Mist the foliage regularly with tepid water to discourage red spider mite and to help flower set.

Varieties:

Black Beauty, Long Purple.

Harvesting:

Cut each fruit from when they've grown about 15cm long and the skin surface is still shiny.
